I grew up here in the Bay Area, attended college at UC Davis, and went on to obtain my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was in the city of brotherly love where my passion to work with children was born and I went on to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry at UCLA.

Meet Dr. Avula
Location: Mission Hills
Dr. Avula grew up in the Central Valley of California and currently lives in the Bay Area with her husband and their two young children. Dr. Avula knew from high school that she wanted to be a dentist. She completed both undergraduate and dental school through an accelerated honors program at The University of the Pacific in just five years.

Location: Downtown & Mission Hills
Dr. Joanna Lee is the newest member to join the Just Kids team. Born and raised in Castro Valley, California, she has always enjoyed working with children; having had the opportunities to travel abroad in Mexico and Honduras to serve on Humanitarian trips. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California San Diego, then graduated from Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine.

My goal is to make my patients feel at ease and to give them a positive, and memorable dental experience. My favorite part about being a pediatric dentist is making everlasting relationships with young children and having a positive impact on their lives.

Meet Dr. Hwang
Dr. Janice Hwang is native to the Bay Area. She spent her early childhood and teenage years as a cellist, competing in competitions all over the Bay Area. While she loved her experience as a classical musician, she eventually decided to use the dexterity that she developed for another artform—dentistry.
Meet Dr. Bui
Dr. Bui is from Orange County in California and is excited to come to the Bay Area to practice orthodontics. His interest in orthodontics began when he had braces at the age of 15 and it has never waned since then. Dr. Bui is an avid fan of basketball and tennis. His favorite players are LeBron James and Roger Federer respectively.
Meet Dr. Yen
Dr. Yen grew up in Northern California’s Bay Area, then traveled to Southern California for undergraduate studies. Dr. Yen graduated with a degree in Physiology from UCLA, then went across town to attend dental school at University of Southern California School of Dentistry. His anesthesia residency was completed at The Ohio State University.
Meet Dr. Young
Dr. Young began his undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned his doctorate at the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, before completing residency in Dental Anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
